Traffic Growth Rate
James D. Brausch
Aaron Brandon recently published that he had a 19%+ monthly growth rate in traffic for his blog. His blog is also running under the Internet Business Box software.
I decided to check that out to see if I received the same. I really doubted it because I don't promote this blog at all. I'm no longer in business and have no reason to promote this blog.
I was amazed to see an extremely consistent 23-26% growth rate in traffic every month since I moved to this platform and started posting regularly. That is the exact rate of decline that I was experiencing using Wordpress and not posting.
But was it posting or was it the platform?
I just went almost two weeks without posting a thing. So I checked it out to see if that affected growth rate at all.
The growth rate (when normalized to monthly figures) did drop to 22% during those two weeks.
A stale blog won't grow. If you aren't growing, you are dying. No matter how big your blog is, if you want your traffic to increase, you have to post regularly.
A 23.5% monthly growth rate is phenomenal though. I still wanted to see how much the platform meant, so I went back to look at my figured during the heyday of my Wordpress blogging. Was I getting a 23.5% monthly growth rate back then?
Nope.
My highest growth rate was during a month where I posted an average of seven times per day. The growth rate that month was 6.48%. My average monthly growth rate on Wordpress with all of my own optimizations was only 4.2% during times that I posted at least once daily.
So the Internet Business Box platform does rock. I highly recommend it if you want to start an Internet business. The combining of automatic business models with blogging and multi-variate testing is all genius. I like it.
I've been annoyed by a few things with the software and been tempted a couple of times to go back to Wordpress, but overall I think it is great for both personal blogs like this one and for actual Internet business blogs.
I have passed my annoyance list along to them. Hopefully a future version will deal with those annoyances. I hope you do the same. They seem to be very open to change.
But that 23.5% monthly traffic growth rate is enough reason to use them. That's phenomenal!
Here's what your first year in business could look like if you have 100 daily visitors on a domain you purchased (and you can purchase many such domains just like that from them!)...
Month #1: 100 Daily Visitors
Month #2: 123 Daily Visitors
Month #3: 153 Daily Visitors
Month #4: 188 Daily Visitors
Month #5: 233 Daily Visitors
Month #6: 287 Daily Visitors
Month #7: 354 Daily Visitors
Month #8: 438 Daily Visitors
Month #9: 541 Daily Visitors
Month #10: 668 Daily Visitors
Month #11: 825 Daily Visitors
Month #12: 1019 Daily Visitors
Yeah! That's ten times traffic growth for every year. The end of year #2, you would have 10,000 daily visitors.
If you sell a $100 product and get a 1% conversion rate, you would start out with a business earning $100 per day in revenue.
By the end of the 1st year, you are earning $1,000 per day even if you never add more products or improve your conversion rate (and the Internet Business Box software is automatically improving your conversion rate so it isn't possible to slack off on that side of the business either).
By the end of the 2ns year, you are pulling in over $10K per day which is a million dollar per year business.
That's pretty cool.
Of course you would add products and you would promote outside of what the Internet Business Box does automatically and you would improve your conversion rate so income increases even faster than the phenomenal traffic growth rate.
If you are just running a personal blog like I am, you still want the traffic growth rate even if you don't care about the income. But there are income streams built into the Internet Business Box so at the very least... your expenses end up being paid by the end of the first few months.
That's always nice especially if you don't even have to manage the bills which they allow. You can use their PayPal account, their hosting and their IBB license and all of the bills get paid automagically. I don't care about making any money with it, but I do love that I don't have to worry about paying bills except for registration (that is on my wish list with them... to offer domain registration along with that all-in-one package so I never have to worry about an expired domain again).
So I won't be going back to Wordpress. I had to upgrade in an emergency because of security flaws in Wordpress three different times during the couple years that I wasn't posting due to the non-compete agreement. I didn't like that. I like not having hassles. I like stuff that just works. I like automagical stuff. So I like the Internet Business Box.
And I really like the 23.5% monthly traffic growth rate!
